Introduction (Our puppy training academy staff& volunteers) We here at our puppy training academy want to thank you for placing your faith with us when acquiring a trained puppy from Shadalane Puppy Training Academy. We have made every effort to teach the puppies in our program all the basic obedience commands and a few other tricks. We have also made every effort in providing the puppies a very loving and happy atmosphere. We have cared for them as if they are actual people (children) in a classroom, understanding that their intelligence and their way of thinking can supersede anybody's expectations. Each puppy can develop mental issues just as our own children do and so we are aware and extremely sensitive to their needs and desires. As experienced professionals, we have learned that repetitive command sessions are not enough to properly guide a puppy to develop into a motivated, happy, well trained golden retriever. A variety of fun filled experienced play a critical role in the development process. A strict regimen in diet, exercise and routine, also serve a meaningful purpose. We can only hope that you are able to value what we have worked on tirelessly, and continue our efforts to ultimately attain and maintain that well behaved & trained golden retriever. We have provided a more clear way of communicating between you and your golden retriever puppy. by utilizing hand signals, as well as pronunciation of words, they are able to understand what we would like for them to do. There are different tones in saying each command, and some may be better than others. We have provided countless sessions in getting them to understand every tone of each command. Some tones of "Sit" (a high pitched "SI IT") may be more affective than the demand "SIT!" Remember, each tone and syllable will have a different meaning. There will be times when your puppy may be confused with other tones and commands. Sometimes they may be uncertain. Other times, they may be day dreaming or preoccupied with certain distractions and so when it is not clear to them, they will not do as told. You should use hand signals to help them understand what you may be actually saying. Acknowledging the tone in your commands and staying consistent to the ones that work best, will allow for more success. Most importantly, having patience in allowing your puppy to have the time to think about what you want, (which may take a great deal of time) will give him or her better understanding of his or her role in the relationship. What you will find is that patience and respect for your puppy will prove to be truly rewarding. It can do wonders. Patience and respect are the two most critical virtues in continuing your puppy's positive training curriculum. This also brings forth consistency. To establish a truly loving and happy relationship with your puppy, do not insist on commands right away. Love on your puppy and maybe insert a few commands here and there, but in a most loving way. If the puppy does not follow, use your patience and wait until he or she does. Allow him the opportunity to think and to decide that this is what he wants to do. You must make a good first impression and get him or her to like you in a way that he will ultimately respect you. Do not ever reprimand, become frustrated, or show any disappointment, especially at this initial stage. Bombarding your puppy with continuous demands can prove to be detrimental to the relationship. show and exude love and this is where you will be able to establish a truly bonding relationship. your puppy ultimately respect you when eventually he or she realized that "this loving and nice person is taking care of me." Your puppy will soon have every reason to be motivated to follow your commands. Your puppy will want to make you happy because he or she knows that it is you who is making him or her happy. ********More information is being transposed here below by our webmaster and will be typed in soon-- thank you.******* |
